I would like to think some ancient Greeks (Greece produces a ton of kiwis), or perhaps Chilean poets, dabbled in artistic praise of the fruit... but no evidence of it to my knowledge!
I had to look it up because I seemed to remember something about it.. apparently Kiwis are from China and didn't make it out of there much before the early 1900s (first to new zealand), so the ancient greeks probably didn't know about them!

I've never tried anything besides the "fuzzy" kiwi, have you? There are so many species 😳.
