My first ever investment was a couple years out of college in 2020 - I feel kind of lucky because I got a crash course in “don’t overreact to market swings” on an accelerated timeline 😅

That's interesting - I do think the COVID crash had similar effects as the GFC in getting more people interested in (in both good and bad ways) the financial markets. I remember reading a few things coming out of the crash that said there were record numbers of "retail" investors starting to own securities.
